Create a skeleton model
Resources/References:
STAN Basic Science & Technology bk4, 100 Science Lessons bk4, model of human skeleton
Starter
Display a picture of the Human skeleton on the screen, have the pupils stand up and go along as you point at parts of the body, name the bones found there and mention their uses.
Main Activity:
Hand out sheets to the pupils and instruct them on how to make models of the skeleton.
Plenary:
Pupils present their models of skeletons.

Understanding Science(our bodies), skeletal models
Starter
Using the models of skeleton designed in the previous class, pupils identify various bones and state their functions.
Main Activity:
Pupils practice movement of bones around the wrists and shoulders.
Identification of types of joints.
A discuss on the importance of muscles.

Pupils move their elbow joints. Teacher explains that we can move our joints because of the presence of muscles in our bodies.
Main Activity:
Two pupils demonstrate contraction and expansion to show that muscles work in pairs.
Project interactivity on digestive system guiding pupils through the path moved by food along the digestive system.
