Meaning of Discount
Discount is a reduction in the price of an article. It is often a certain percentage of the actual price of the article.

Examples
1. A table clock cost $200, and a 10% discount is given for paying cash. What is the cash price?

Solution

The discount = 10% of $200 =
10    x 200= 20
100

So Cash price = original price – discount
                                                        Amount  =    $200 –  $20 = $180

2. The selling price of a shirt is $900. The trader gives 5% discount for cash. How much is the buyer paying.
Solution
The discount = 5% of $900 = $45

So Cash price = original price – discount amount

                        = $900 – $45 = $855

Begin the lesson by showing them an image of a market where buying and selling is taking place, then ask them what is happening in the image.

Calculating original amount on goods with discount
Sometimes mathematical question arise in which we are given the percentage discount and discounted amount, then we asked to find the initial amount of goods
Example
1. find the actual amount of a chair if the buyer pays $2000 and the discount is 5%
Solution
Let actual amount be x
Cash price =actual amount - discount
Discount = actual amount – cash price= x – 2000
Also
Discount =    x actual amount
                   100
Therefore
x – 2000 = 5x
                   100
100x – 200000= 5x
95x = 200000
x = 2105
Actual amount = $2,105

Start the lesson by writing a simple equation on the board and ask pupils to find the subject of formula

2. An agent was given a commission of 40%. If he sells a good worth #80,000, what is his commission?

Solution
The price of goods is = $80,000
Percentage on commission = 40
commission in cash
                       = 40  x 80000 =   32000                            100

DO YOU SEE THESE STRANGE LINES ON YOUR NAILS? DON'T JOKE WITH IT, THIS IS WHAT IT SAYS OF YOUR HEALTH

As I’ve gotten older, those vertical ridges on my nails seem to be getting more and more prominent. That’s when I decided to do some research to see if those ridges meant anything about my health, and if there was anything I could do to get rid of them. What They Mean About Your Health After a lot of research, I did find that there is a small, rare possibility that those ridges can mean an underlying medical condition or possibly even nail trauma. But for most of us, it’s completely normal as we age to see them getting more noticeable, especially if you have dry skin or skin conditions such as eczema. I’m 36, and they’ve only recently started bothering me, but I’m relieved to find that they are most likely harmless. I’m just getting old. But Why Are They There? They’re basically like wrinkles of the nails! As we age, the nail matrix gradually starts to lose it’s effectiveness in some areas, causing your nails to grow out uneven, resulting in what we see as lines or ridges that run from
